First describe what each record actually shows. Compare the crop with the complete drawing. Keep the label date separate from its unverified event claim. Read this plan's own key and coverage. To check completion or opening, seek records about that particular work, not another copy of the proposal.
Worked example
A sketch shows five lamps: two glowing and three dark. A crop keeps the two glowing lamps, omitting three. A later label claims a festival but supplies no support. A separate plan marks one existing gate and one proposed gate. The crop does not prove every lamp glowed, the label does not verify the festival, and the plan does not prove the second gate opened.
Two invented market records
Record A is an undated drawing of eight stalls. Stalls 1-3 are open; stalls 4-8 are closed. A crop keeps only 1-3 unchanged. No other stalls or times are shown. A label added in 1988 claims Opening fair, 1958, with no supporting source. Two leaflets copy it. Record B is a 1935 market-lane proposal, not to scale. Filled squares mean existing gates P and Q; a hollow square means proposed gate R. The dashed line means a proposed walkway. Only this lane is covered, not every market gate. No completion or opening records are supplied.
