Market Workshop
A small shop. Three shelves. Your pricing decisions.
Game coins only. No real money, borrowing or other players. Stock never spoils.
Log in with a student account to manage your shop.
Each shelf serves one group of system customers per UTC day. A price changes how many customers will buy: below cost, six; cost plus one, four; cost plus three, one. Only stocked units can sell. These fixed pretend rules are not a forecast of a real business.
Shop accounts
Revenue is money received from sales. Trading profit subtracts the cost of the units sold, not all the stock bought. Unsold stock stays on your shelves. This simulation has no rent, taxes or other expenses.
Trade journal
The money in the till is not all profit
A pretend shop buys six bookmarks for two coins each. It then sells four bookmarks for three coins each.
Work it through
Four sales at three coins bring in 12 coins. Those four bookmarks cost 8 coins, so trading profit is 12 minus 8, or 4 coins. Two bookmarks remain, with a stock cost of 4 coins. All six cost 12 coins to buy, so the cash change so far is zero, even though the sold units earned a profit.
Fun fact: buying stock changes where your coins are held. Selling only part of it can leave both coins in the till and stock on the shelf.
