Learn the skill

Start the main stroke at the baseline. Follow the lesson arrows slowly. Finish the body before adding the i dot or t crossbar.

Worked example

In this model, i and u reach the short-letter line; t reaches the top line. The i has a dot, t has a bar and u has neither.

Three rows of writing guides: models of i, t and u; gray copies to trace; blank guides for independent writing. The i and u are short; t is taller.
One practice style. Take a short break if your hand feels tired.

Try it on paper

Trace the gray row, cover the model and write on the blank guides. Ask a helper to check height, direction and marks. These questions check letter knowledge, not handwriting or speed.
