Photo can connect with light or photography. Graph and related forms such as graphy connect with writing, drawing or recording. Bio connects with life, geo with Earth, tele with distance and micro with small things. Combine known clues, then check the complete word in its sentence. A clue does not prove every detail about a thing.

Worked example

A photograph is a picture recorded using light. Photo supplies light and graph supplies recording. Together they help us understand the word, but they do not tell us who took the picture or what it shows.
