Hours and Halves: Clock Set Two

Read the hands, say the time, then match a digital clock. A helper may read the words aloud.

The short, thick hand tells the hour. The long, thin hand tells the minutes. At 12 it shows 00 minutes; at 6 it shows 30. At half past, the hour hand is halfway toward the next hour.

Worked example

Long hand at 6 and short hand halfway between 4 and 5: 4:30, half past four. It is not five yet.

A: short hand between 5 and 6, long hand at 6; B: short hand at 9, long hand at 12; C: short hand between 12 and 1, long hand at 6; D: short hand at 3, long hand at 12. Hours use the shorter, thicker hand.
Short, thick hand: hour. Long, thin hand: minutes. Read each lettered clock.
