General guidance recommends gentle brushing twice daily for two minutes with a soft-bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste. Include outer, inner and chewing surfaces. Clean between teeth daily with suitable help, and follow individual dental advice. A worksheet cannot diagnose a problem.

Worked example

A fictional plan says to brush only the tooth surfaces visible in a smile. It needs the inner and chewing surfaces too. Help, suitable equipment and a dental professional's plan matter; pain is not a signal to scrub harder.

Outer, inner and chewing tooth surfaces belong in the brushing routine. Between-tooth cleaning is a separate daily step.
