Read a path from the outside folder toward the file. A slash separates each step in this paper model. A file name alone can be ambiguous. Check its folder and contents rather than trusting an attractive icon.
Worked example
Projects/Art/sketch.png means open Projects, then Art, then sketch.png. It is not the sketch.png inside Projects/Science.
The Pretend Project Shelf
Our fictional Projects folder contains Science and Art. Science holds notes.txt and sketch.png. Art also holds a different sketch.png. The two sketches have the same name but different full paths. All three files stay on the same pretend computer. No real files need to be opened, moved or uploaded.
