Identify each speaker's role, selected details, and main concern. Different emphasis is not necessarily a factual contradiction. Compare what both acknowledge before deciding where their perspectives diverge.
Worked example
A performer may describe a concert's difficult solo while an usher describes seating delays. Both accounts can be accurate because the writers experienced different parts of the event.

Painter's account: 'The rain delay frustrated us, but it gave us time to revise the central pattern. The finished mural looked more balanced. I remember the day mainly for that discovery.' Organizer's account: 'During the rain delay, I found space for waiting volunteers and rearranged deliveries. The finished mural pleased everyone. I remember the day mainly for the schedule changes.'
