Learn the skill

Name the shared goal, then compare the same feature in both texts: materials, steps, or limits. Support each difference with a detail from each plan.

Worked example

If Plan A sorts books by author and Plan B sorts them by topic, both organize books, but their sorting rules differ. Neither detail tells which plan costs more.

Two Book Exchange Plans

Plan A: A school club will hold a book exchange on one Saturday. Volunteers will sort donated books by reading level. Visitors can take one book for each book they bring. No books are sold. Plan B: A library will keep an exchange shelf open during its regular hours. Books will be sorted by topic. Visitors may take one book even if they do not bring one. A volunteer will check the shelf each afternoon.

1. What goal do both plans share?
2. How do their schedules differ?
3. Which plan lets someone take a book without bringing one?
4. Which comparison of sorting is accurate?
5. Which claim cannot be decided from these texts?
