Find the two neighboring tens or hundreds. Locate their midpoint. Round to the nearer endpoint; at exactly halfway, round to the larger endpoint.

Worked example

To round 347 to the nearest hundred, use 300 and 400. Their midpoint is 350. Since 347 is below 350, it rounds to 300.
