1. Look closely

We can be careful lookers. Find the shape in box A, on the left. It is a circle. Its edge curves all the way around. No corners!
2. Find the square

Box B has a square. Its sides are straight. It has four sides and four corners. A grown-up can help you trace and count them.
3. Your turn

Now find box C in the middle. Point to its shape. How many straight sides can you find? Pause the video and count together.
4. Three sides

One, two, three. It is a triangle. A triangle has three straight sides. The circle, square, and triangle have different edges. Looking at edges helps us tell them apart.
5. Another way to sort

Here is a fun fact. We can sort shapes by their edges, not just by color. These shapes are the same color, but their edges are different.
