Compare the same feature in two descriptions. A change is something different; continuity is something that stays. Different does not automatically mean better or worse.

Worked example

If an old picture shows a wooden bridge and a later picture shows a metal bridge, the material changed. If both cross the same stream, that feature stayed.

Two Invented Descriptions

A fictional school in 1980 has a gray roof and a tree beside it. In 2020, the same school has a red roof and a tree beside it. These classroom examples are not records of a real school.
