Use the same months and units for both places. Subtract to compare temperatures. Keep track of whether a table covers all months or only a selection; a long-term average is not a forecast for a particular day.
Worked example
If January averages 5 C and July averages 21 C, their difference is 16 C. Without the other months, that does not necessarily establish the full annual temperature range.
