State what changes across the paragraph, then order information so each sentence prepares the next. Choose transitions that name the actual relationship. Replace ambiguous pronouns when more than one noun could be their referent.
Worked example
'The path flooded. Therefore, we took the bridge' names a cause and result. 'However' would signal a contrast instead and needs a different relationship.
A Draft with Missing Connections
'The footpath was underwater. We took the raised bridge. I gave Mara the dry bag beside the bench. She put it there. By sunset, we reached the cabin.' The writer wants a clear account of the route change and what happened to the bag.
