Learn the skill

Listen as someone reads the choices. A character is who the story follows. A setting is where it happens. A goal is something the character wants to do. You can point to or say your choices.

Worked example

A story could follow Pip, take place in a park, and have a goal of finding a lost hat. Pip is the character, the park is the place, and finding the hat is the goal.
