Learn the skill

Multiply every length by the same factor to keep proportions in a flat design. Enlarging just width would stretch the design differently. The examples use ideal measured plans, not a rule against expressive distortion.

Worked example

A 3 cm by 5 cm plan enlarged by factor 2 becomes 6 cm by 10 cm.

A portrait rectangle with ratio two to three is enlarged to four to six. Both width and height double, preserving proportion. Labeled values define the plan; screen resizing changes physical ruler measurements.
